Hi there, I now using Access database to store data (text only), but I am afraid that one day in future MS Access is not enough. How many posts (estimated) can MS Access store?
And then can I transfer existing MS Access data to MS SQL or My SQL? Thanks.

Microsoft claims that an Access database has good performance if tables stick to +/- 35000 rows, after that, performance issues will be found, such as long time responces, etc...
it always depend on the machine as well, maybe you should considerate changing to MS SQL (no worries about performance here) or the new SQL Express/Compact versions used in .NET cause all you need is the file and the right queryString, and you will be up and running to 4Gb file and... for free

There are a few tutorials on upgrading from Access to SQL Server floating around.
Here's a short one [link]. A more detailed one was posted. A quick search should turn it up. |
