Are new graphics going to be released with 3.4? I can't wait for it to come out. Good job guys.

There will be a few extra buttons post.asp
But no, the icons will mostly still be the same.

It shouldn't be that hard for you to use different icons if you want. All that's involved is making them and replacing the ones that are used now.

Is there a list of what functions are in each inc file? I would like to just get a head start and find out a couple things....

Is the variable that still holds the members id MemberID
Are the functions still called the same way?
function chkString(pString,fField_Type)
function StrToDate(strDateTime)
function DateToStr(dtDateTime)

also what files are these included in? This should be all I need to help me get a jumpstart on some of the other pages im working on.

Yes, I think Davio was hoping to have something ready

Yes, but chkDate is diffferent, and chkTime has gone
plus the chkuser functions have changed.
There is no longer a single inc_functions.asp, but about 8 or so
smaller includes, so in general you would need inc_func_common.asp
this should work as a replacement for about 90% of the inc_function includes, the othe 10% will aybe need an extra include or two.

in_top is now inc_header

You see why it is not so easy to move from v4b03 to v4b04? I have to write a line interpreter to make necessary changes in existing langNNNN.asp files (e.g. strLangInc_FunctionsNNNNN will be a different one etc).

I tried it for a couple of files, it is something that must be done with utmost care...

The MOD Guide won't be ready before the 3.4 version is released. There is a lot of info to put into it and I am trying to keep it simple so newbies won't read it and go "what in the world is this guy talking about?".

The descriptions of each function wasn't something I planned to include, although I had thought of including it. But I guess I could add it in. Just would take a bit longer to complete. I am already putting in description of each database fields.

version? See the 3.4 UnOfficial Features List !

Forgive me if I missed the answer to this somewhere:

I noticed that sticky topics are on the unofficial 3.4 list. I was wondering: can only admins create them? Mods? Is it an option as to who can? If I see a topic I like a lot, can I then make it sticky afterwards?

It's a feature that's included in the forums, and only admins and moderators can make topics sticky, at any time by clicking an icon on forum.asp

i'm not sure if this is the place to ask (so if it isn't, please direct to the place to ask).. is 3.4 going to have any kind of feature where members can set something in their profile to make the timezone offset correct for them? if not, is there currently a mod or something that does it? it can be really annoying having people from all over the world visiting your forum, and having the dates and times mean absolutely nothing...

it is not planned to go in 3.4, but I will be re-releasing the timezone Mod at the same time that 3.4 is released.

I will have to object to this statement though

I do not live in the same timezone as displayed here, as I'm sure most of the others do to, so how can you say the dates and times mean nothing ? It is not a very sound basis for adding a Mod.

You know what Timezone the server/forum here is running in Huw .. none of us others do, so at least you have the upper hand in being able to convert from your local timezone to the forum timezone.

Something I found extremely handy on my forum was to just print out at the bottom of each page the current server time and Zone.

Are there certain MODS that, once installed, make it difficult to do an upgrade. I've installed:
Advanced Color Control
Avatars 2
Modified the code to have unique page titles
Will these cause problems when I upgrade?
If not, are there others that will?

Kind Regards,
David DuVal
