Just a gentle reminder to those of you who are asking for help with your forums:

DO - post a link to your forum.
DO - tell us if you are using Access, SQLServer or mySQL.
DO - tell us if this is a new problem, or just started happening.
DO - Post your question in the proper forum.
DO - tell us what version of the forum is running.
DO - tell us if you have installed any mods.
DO - tell us what kind of connection you are using.
DO - make your subject descriptive.
DO - tell us if this is a mission critical forum.
DO - search for a possible answer before posting.
DO - provide steps to recreate the problem if applicable.

DON'T - post HELP! as a subject. That's not going to get your question answered any sooner. It may take longer. Some persons look at the subject line for ways they can help out.

DON'T - forget that this is a volunteer system. There are no paid members here whose job is to answer your question.

DON'T - be vague in the description of your problem. "It's broken!" isn't descriptive enough.

DON'T - worry about your grammar and spelling. Only I'm anal about that, and you won't be flamed. If you are a non-English speaker and you are afraid that your message may not be clear in English, then post in your native language as well. There may be someone from your country who will have an answer for you and be able to tell you in your own language, as well as English.

Please don't use large .gif or .jpg files in your sig files. This slows down the system if you are a frequent poster. You can use up to 255 characters, but in most cases, less is better.

Sue

very good points heptite. Thanks for pointing out the snitz netiquette for the users. Especially, "DO - make your subject descriptive", and similiarly, "DON'T - post HELP! as a subject".

I'm new to the Forums. What does "mission critical forum" refer to under the "DO's"?

That means if your forum runs in a productional environment and is necessary to be online any time or it`s "just" a test site or something else.

I have downloaded your program 4 times but its in a
zip form. I have windows me with a pent4. When it
asks me where to download I put it in temp files.
Then when I go to open it a win zip program opens up
to unzip it. But all it does is put approx 60 files
on my temp page. What Am I doing wrong?

Im using net 54 right now but I love the format your
message board has.

Could you tell me should I be saving it to a different
file to open it? Do I install it on my web page? and
if so how?

Sorry, if its to much let me know and I will forget
it, I went to your forums but coundnt find the
answers.

I would say the process for downloading and then
opening is not clear, (but again Im a dummy)

Thanks

The easiest place to dwonload files to is probably your desktop, if you want make a folder called "download" on your desktop and send your downloads there...

When you open a zip file you must tell it where to go, hit the extract button and then send the files to: C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\download\forum (if its the forum you have downloaded).... This is just one example, ok.

If you dont name the folder or if you have never named a destination before then it will unzip to the folder its alrady in...

Hope this makes sense to you mate!
Be Lucky, Robin.
