I must be missing a step somewhere. I copied your ICON images into my forum directory.
I updated the 2 files (post_buttons and inc_code) you mentioned and tweeked the code (looks like you had a lang fuction in there I took that out. The ICON names in the code were all a little off from what you posted and I corrected them.
I finally got the new line under my current icons and I got the work videos: to appear in that new line but still no icons.
I am still messing with it if you get this msg right away any help would be appreciated. Thx Tom
yeah, I agree, something isn't working here either.....any ideas... |

5. add the code to inc_iconfiles.asp
Const strIconGVideo = "icon_GVID.gif|23|22"
Const strIconYTube = "icon_TUBE.gif|23|22"
Const strIconFlash = "icon_FLASH.gif|23|22"
Const strIconMetacafe = "icon_METACAFE.gif|23|22"
Const strIconMySpace = "icon_MYSPACE.gif|23|22"
Const strIconQuickTime = "icon_QT.gif|23|22"
Const strIconWMV = "icon_WMV.gif|23|22"
Const strIconRealVideo = "icon_RV.gif|23|22"
just a question, should I compile it, and build a nice MOD with REAL instructions? so it would be easier to the ones that doesn't get it? |

Just a side note I think it would be great for anyone to have step by step instructions that make it a bit easier. just throwing my 2 cents in.

That would be fantastic! I have been fiddling with this MOD off and on for 2 days and I still have it only HALF working.
Great MOD but following the installation instructions and making the code changes are like trying to put a scrambled egg back into the shell, then back into the chicken too. |

Keep in mind that one of those is an update to the other... Macel went back and set up a generic [video] tag to replace all the individual tags for Google Video, YouTube, etc.
That is exactly what I mean about the instructions being fragmented, scrambled, incomplete and inconsistent. I have gone around and around with those changes, the embedded.js changed to video.js the tags changed a couple of times, some options are in one version but not others, the inc_icons.asp was sort of an afterthought then the icon images are different depending on which post you read.
I don't mean it to sound like I'm whinning. It is a GREAT MOD and well worth the efforts I have put into it. I just would like to help future uses to avoid what I have been going through. Unfortunately, I don't have a complete enough understanding of all of this coding to do the organizing that needs to be done.
You guys have all been life savers for me from the beginning. I feel like I have been through a couple more years of schooling since I started this forum. |

Guys, I am very sorry, but at the moment I am sick at home with an ear infection.....I don't have the energy to thouroughly read through the documentation. But, let me say this ; this is an open source project, so you absolutely have my approval to go forward of making my breadcrumb-coding into a well documented and easy to implement mod. I really appreciate the initiative!
I will make sure that in my next release, only the functions are replaced, without touching the structure. |

Get well soon, the whole Snitz community is missing you. Those ear infections can be brutal! I've had them myself and I don't envy you right now. Thanks for all you efforts on this MOD, it is a really great idea. The detailed code is just way over my head and without guys like you the rest of us would never get this kind of stuff to work. Take care of yourself! |
