I got my hands on RoR from Lynda.com CD's and ... it's not hard, but it's not easy as well  .
been a VB guy for ages (please read more than 12 years), it's hard to move, and the only thing that I do apart of VB is C#
but a wonderful link and all should read more about this new language (Rails) cause Ruby is old 
always good to learn, doesn't hurt anyone.
