OK, since a few hours ago a ran perfectly a legal copy of Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack2 Italian edition on a Acer Aspire 5600
Now I decided to format and re-install (it was getting a little slow), so I formatted, then put on the BIOS list as first thing the CD, and inserted my windows xp cd. It's giving me this error.

check in the bios to make sure that your machine is set to boot from the CD, sounds like it is trying to boot from the HDD which you have formatted |

pxe is a network boot, make sure your network card has pxe turned off in the bios |

PXE is NOT a network boot, it is Pre-Boot eXecution Environment, it may include a network boot if that is part of the bios, but PXE itself is not a network boot. |

don't know why it gave me that error, at the end it's my cdreader lense that is starting to break I resolved the problem by using an external usb cd reader though it takes more time. |

it gave you the error because it couldn't find a valid media to boot from, HDD/CD or network |
