So lets say I use MySQL-Front for importing the tables data. Would I need to run set-up.asp first? Then to run the setup for all the mods? I have tried this but obviously getting errors because tables do not exist for the mods.
or
Could I create the tables by importing the text file created by Access-to-MySQL. Then use MySQL-Front for transfering from the access tables to the tables in MySQL?
Sorry for being a bad newbie |

Run setup.asp and then all the dbs files for mods and then import the data.
Ok this is where I get stuck. can the dbs files be run through the browser or only through the admin panel? If only through the admin panel then I would have to replace all forum files with unmodified files to run the dbs files, then overwrite with the original forum files?
Also, I do not have the old version setup.asp but i presume the new version would still create the same tables? |

Yeah, you can use the setup.asp file for 3.4.06, no worries. I would use a default 3.4.06 install for running the dbs files. Just set it up in another folder. It's the easiest way to do that, believe me. |

Rui I tried the method recommended but ran into a few problems with sql errors. I cannot recall the errors now so canot post. Anyway they were to do with importing the members tables. As the fields were mixed up due to the order of running the DBS files from last time with 1 column missing. I manually added this column and rearranged exisitng columns to match with my Access details.
EDIT. All errors were from active users 4 mod.
To top things off, MySQL-Front kept crashing with weird error messages in a language that was not English but reffering to memory.
I've sent you email
