We're in the process of moving our forum databases over onto a dedicated server and it has been successful using MySql 4.0, however there were several problems using other versions of MySql and I received the following from our hosts:

Can anyone shed any light on what compatibility problems we might have with Snitz version 3.4.03 and MySql 4.1 & 5.0 and any fixes that we'd need to implement?
if you look through this forum and the bug forum, you will find several bugs/fixes you can try, however we would suggest that since you have version 4.0 intsalled that you stick with that since it works. the incompatabilities are because of changes/bugs in MySQL and not because the forum is doing anything wrong.
so I guess there's no real advantage in changing to a newer version of MySql as far as the forum is concerned? Everything forum wise is working fine on version 4.0 so we'll leave it at that
