Got this error.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[MySQL][ODBC 3.51 Driver][mysqld-4.0.20-standard]MySQL client run out of memory
/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 1342
Forum recently converted from Access to MySQL by Rui and was running sweet.
Had a search here in Mysql forums but nothing turned up. |

Not going onto hosting discussion, but when I saw this one I thought the package and price was quite reasonable. I was looking for the catch!
Not got any doubts about Rui's work but just hoping it ain't my forum that has done this 
I remember on the old host installing one of the other members who are active mods, it took about 2 minutes for a page to load only to show around 150 of the same user online  Oh it's all fun.
Sorry for the little off topic ramble. 
EDIT.. I have tried to access MySQL through PHPMyAdmin and can connect and view fine. Would this still indicate a server issue? |

Yes, PHPMyAdmin will be using a different method of connecting to MySQL than your forum is, it is more than likely a driver issue, and judging from the number of results google returns, it is quite a common mysql problem.
I don't have access to my snitz files currently, so if you could tell me what function line 1342 relates to, it may help shed some light. |

Er, working from laptop and have no editor with line numbering. Here is link to txt file if that helps at all.
As mentioned the forum has been running fine for over 24 hrs after conversion and no script files have been modded since.
EDIT.. Also if I refresh the error messages alternate with this as the other error.

some questions, what page are you trying to access when you get this error ?
does the same error occur for any page, active.asp topic.asp etc |

| This is a server error. Your MySQL server is a Lunix machine, so this may be related to the number of file handles or similar. You will need to talk to your host about it. |

Talking to my host about stuff seems hit n miss. It's all these support tickets to raise an issue then 9 times outa 10 they send you a reply with a link and say check this. The link rarely produces the answers you are looking for. I still have not discovered the email server address to put in email settings so would only confuse them with this.
I hope this situation is not going to be a regular occurance with this host.
Just got email from my current host I plan to leave onl 3 days to go, what a dilema  |
