I finally got around to downloading it for WinXP today.
Yeah, it's fine at work, wacky at home. Can't quite figure out what the difference is. There's got to be some setting or font or something that is causing it. |

Are you using a Mac at work? FF1.5 for WinXP hasn't shown any problems except for not being compatable with my spell-checker... |

Yes. Mac OS X 10.4.3 and FF 1.5. G5 at work, G4 at home -- that's the only real difference. |

when I posted that last message, I noticed it didn't do anything weird to the quote.
So somehow, suddenly, without me doing anything, it's fixed.
I think.
Return here.
Two returns there.

Yep. Fixed. Now I'm really confused. Happy but confused.
Oh well...shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, huh? |

OK. So right before coming here to see if anyone had posted anything new, Firefox suddenly quit on me and the talkback feature launched. I didn't fill out any of the info, just told it to relaunch. Firefox failed to relaunch. So again, relaunch.
After posting the previous message, and deciding I really better get ready for work, I quit FF and it told me that there were new settings and asked if I'd like to apply the new or keep the old. I clicked new. That has to be it! FF fixed itself. Possible? |

Its possible. I've learned that sometimes, when it starts to work unexpectedly, just let it be.
Glad its all working though. |

FF1.5 is supposed to support auto-updating (it's big selling-point) so this could be the fix pushed out to you! |

That's good to know. I wasn't aware of that. |

Yep I think the point to v1.5 is that it doesn't require a full de/re-install as v1.0.x does, so it may have background-updated and restarted in its new, healed form...pure speculation, but it would tie-in somewhat. |

That couldn't be the case, if he is indeed using version 1.5. Unless he was using an RC or Beta version of 1.5. There have been no updates yet since they officially released FF 1.5. And it wouldn't magically download and update without telling you. You have to agree to install it. |

Maybe it has something to do with encoding. Have you tried to change it in the settings of FF? |
