It can't be against the terms, all you are doing is emailing yourself, and downloading your mail. |

It's been around for several months (and some similar ones too) I'd expect if they weren't happy they would have shut them down by now. |

I'm only assuming. Just seems to me Google made gmail for email, not for peoples backups and whatnot. I know I've heard other places what I stated above. I looked over thier TOS and I don't specifically see it, but I'm sure they don't really approve of it. |

You should be able to use GMail any way you want, as long as it doesn't go against thier TOS. If using it as a backup drive, isn't breaking thier TOS, thier is no problem against it.
If they don't like it, I'm sure everyone will hear about it and they will amend thier TOS.
But until then, use the software if you want. It is currently legal. |

it say nowhere in the TOS or the Program policies that you cant use it as a back-up drive unless you have illegal stuff on your drive e.g. viruses or illegal porn... |

They give you 1 Gig to play with. Can't imagine why it would matter to them how you fill it. You're allocated that space anyway...
Slightly off topic but wow, can you imagine how much harddrive space Google will need when this thing gets as big as Hotmail? Their data storage centre is probably as big as a small town. Googleville! |
