<I don't want to appear anti-MS, I appreciate them>

The problem is that IE is the most popular browser (I'd link google zeitgeist but they took down browser stats), some people develop sites that presume an homegenous default-install IE environment, those that don't (or follow standards) won't have to rethink changes in the short term.

Website looks great in IE 6, there seems to be some kind of redirect / browser sniff that made my FF cry (no js).

if you don't have js enabled you should get an error page from the site, if you don't then there is something up.

don't worry about the funny redirect, that is because the test site is running on a subdomain so it can't find the nojavascript file because it is on the main site.

Enabled JS and it is working great now, nice site :) but no message telling me to enable it in latest ff without JS.

For searchbox, can't really see what is happening, have you tried adding a pixel high line to the bottom of the background and seeing what happens?

I cant click into the textbox with either Firefox or Opera.

It also looks like you have some CSS quirks to work out with Opera 7

I'm still trying to figure that one out, if you go to any of the other pages it is fine.

This also has me perplexed, the ones where the alignment is out are being padded, and Opera is supposed to support padding, but it doesn't seem to be working, will remove the padding and add an invisible gif instead.

Still an IE man. Firefox is cool, great for developing, but as stated it still has some display quirks. Not to mention, it's still in BETA. <grin> It has great potential and I'd love to see it be successful, but it's just not there yet for me.

Last I heard, there was indeed a new version of IE in the works but Microsoft had stated that it would be released with (or after) Longhorn and not before.

OK, so I'm giving Firefox a try. I gotta say, it is pretty cool.

Two things.

1. Can you limits it to only open one instance of the browser and force all new pages to open in a new tab?

2. Is it possible to manage bookmarks at all? This seems too hard, I must be going at it wrong.

1) I just use Ctrl+click to force a new tab
2) No idea :(

Yes. You can force links in web pages that open a new browser window to open in a tab instead. But you can't stop windows' applications from opening a new browser window.

Davio,

Thanks, I loaded Tab Browser Extensions, this is just what I was looking for.

seahorse,
As for the bookmarks. It seems a lot easier with IE, but I won't give up yet. How do I get them sorted in alphabetical order? If I have a long list, how can I have them in two columns? I know I can create multiple folders, but I usually like them as one big mess.

Yes you can. Hit Tools > Extensions, Get More Extensions and look in the Tabbed Browsing category for Single Window extension.
