If you know HTML, you can open the bookmarks.html file in oyur user preferences folder and edit it directly. But the manage bookmarks optin in the menu works fine for me. What is the problem you are having? |

I use Opera almost exclusively and I tell everyone that raves about Mozilla to check out where they stole all their "original" ideas from. The only time I don't is for the few sites I run across that flash and whatnot doesn't work in and sites that require permanent cookies that I don't want to add to my allowed site. Firefox is OK, except it's more like IE in that it's a window instead of an environment like Opera is. There isn't a browser today that can beat Opera's usability or their implementation of panels. |

Do you guys remember if Snitz Forums 2000 Version 3.3.05 is geared to work with firefox? I recently downloaded firefox to see what all the whoopla was about, but right off the bat... I tried to logoff from the site http://www.recovery-inc.org/members/forums and the forum tells me I've logged off but my username still appears and the logout icon is still there! Also when I click on the arrow to open the page select box, to go to the next page say from pg 1 to pg 2...nothing happens. Maybe time to upgrade to 3.4.05, eh? |

Lorn, the reason this happens in FireFox (and Opera) is the way it caches. Turn off caching and this will not happen. |

Thank you dayve (and a Happy Thanksgiving to ya). I opened options and went to privacy and opened cache and set the amt of disk space for cache to zero, since I didn't see any kind of on-off box or switch. This helped in navigating from say page 1 to page xx, but the Logoff routine, which Forum takes me to the successful logoff page, only to bring me back to the home page with my username and logoff icon still there. I want to see username blank and logon icon. So it isn't Forum, eh? |

Lorn, if it doesn't do the same thing using another browser like IE, then the problem is not with the forum. |

Yeah, I don't think it's the Forum either. It works fine with IE. Thanks. |

I logged in to that forum and logged back out without any problems. And I have my cache set to 50 MB. I have not seen Firefox cache any .ASP file. Only thing I notice it caches is the images.
If it is a caching problem, after you log out, press Ctrl+F5 to let Firefox take the info from the server and not from cache. Likewise, clear your cache and set it to 0.
Let's not be so quick to pointing fingers at the browser. |

I've seen it plenty of times, same thing with Opera. I haven't tried 1.7.5 yet though.
Needing to hit Ctrl-F5 is a motion I think people should have to do without. |

You got a site or anything that would show me an example? Or the next time you come across it, send me a link. |

it is not a problem with the site, it is the way the browser works. download Opera and go to a site and you may experience a similar issue. |

So you saying it happens on ALL sites then since it is with the browser? But I'm not experiencing the same symptoms as Lorn. So what could be different between our browser settings that makes it happen to her and not to me? |

forget it... maybe search Firefox and/or Opera cache issue in Google and you'll see similar stories. |
