Don't worry about sounding "too harsh" - if I want to hear positive drivel only I ask relatives how they like it. 
And since the only two things you dislike are only temporary I feel good about it anyway.
The transitions were criticized by others before, and I will take the advice. The reason I put them in in the first place was my hope of disguising the loading delay on some pages, where the tables get populated by the database and take some time.
And the "too busy" marquees are pure info for the members, and will get toned down again when the tournament is filled.
All in all, thanks for the voiced opinions! |

I get your point, Mule - as I said, "with the hope of" disguising the slow loading etc.
I always thought the pages would load while the transition is still going on, and look more even. Apparently it did not fulfill that promise, and I will do something about it.
The top marquee will go away soon, and the scrolling speeds are slower on the lower marquees, and the lowest actually will not scroll at all for the remainder of the year. |
