Maybe just change the link color altogether....hey! wait a minute...earlier I was on my school computer and it didnt look good. Looks great on my home computer though...
Anyway if you want it to look better (speaking of how it looked at school) I would say maybe change it to the same color you have the members link look like at the bottom of the forum where it says:

Now you confused me, Ryan.
I thought the stats at the bottom were what you referred to in the first place?

Yes I did. The Members link at the bottom is different then the other links. It is like a tanish color and the other are red. I was saying you should make them all like the Members link.

Oh, now I get it! I wasn't even aware of that difference, and it was unintended. Do you think it would stand out enough if I made those links all in that tan?

I liked it. It kept me looking around because it was interesting.
I liked the music. . .I keep the volume low, so it didn't bother, and in fact, it was kind of catchy - appropriate.

The transition fades could go. It slows the site, low interest.

Overall, its a robust interesting site.
Soften a few edges, mute contrasting borders and polish the highlights and it will be a really great site.
Nice work, in my opinion. . .!

Well, it looks like we found at least some common ground on what is less desirable.
Sounds like the transitions are disliked the most.

Really surprises me, because I was thrilled when I saw them first at another site - it seemed the perfect thing to disguise the slow loading of some pages!
But - point well taken, and I will change them at least into faster and different kinds.

Ok, Panhandler - can you be a bit more specific on the "soften the edges" etc. What would you suggest?

Looks good, I'd like to suggest a few things though:
- reduce the font size for forum titles on default.asp, it doesn't fit IMO
- think about changing the Forum Cell Color/Alternate Forum Cell Color. I think it's too bright for the overall dark background, you may want to change it to a dark color. If you want to keep a dark font on a light background, I'd suggest a color slightly darker that your menu's font color.

Apart from that, nice work, and one can see you've done a lot modifications.

Thanks, Muli!

Good suggestions, BTW.
Choosing the cell colors gave me trouble, and I will look them over again.
The fonts? Are you sure it is not your browser view|text setting?
Mine is set on smaller.

Yes, that is what I thought.
Since mine is set one level smaller it looks fine on my screen.

What you are saying is that most users probably keep their text setting on "medium", like you do?
Would be great to have a survey on that, wouldn't it!

These are my font sizes set in admin configuration:
Default: 10, header: 12, footer: 08

OneWayMule took the words right out of my mouth.
The higher contrasting colors give an illusion of "sharpness". OneWay's suggestion is a good one.
Surviving World War Two'ers, like my Dad, would have difficulty looking at the page for very long due to deteriorating vision.

Could you do one thing for me?
The roll-over on "The Battle Group" tank would be really cool if it had a sound affect to like an explosion when the flame came out.
Thanks for a nice site. . .

So what you are saying is that it may well be better to have less contrast, since it is only an illusion?
Without this "Illusion" would it then not look fuzzy immediately, rather than later?

Yes, that sound is sorely missing, and I tried hard to get it done, without success.
Just could not get the timing right!

Would anyone know how to solve that, "please"?

I checked out the site. Looks good, a few things I'd do different. First. Get rid of page transistions! I am not a fan of them, especially slow ones which slow down browsing. I think the header it a bit too crowded, and a bit too fast paced. It's hard to read what's there as there are a hundred different things scrolling by. I like the colors and the design. Just these two things which really bother me, or which I don't like. I like the tank at the top also, with the mouseover. It looks like a pretty strong running community. Keep up the good work. I hope I don't sound harsh, just voicing a few opinions.
