I just emailed them and asked them in a nutshell the following...
what would be the stats on the server, where would it be located, what is the network connection and what would the cost be just for the server? |

I just thought of something...
Wouldn't be cool to start a new project to track the miles traveled by your mouse pointer?

The TKC server package must be located on a server which we have direct access to for security and legal reasons. This could be either physically in the same hosting location as the existing server, or in any reasonably accessible colocation facility of your choosing within the Metro Atlanta area.
Also please note that the reactivation of our server is far higher priority than establishing a new server. Because of the demanding schedules of our staff we would very likely not be able to fully launch a new server until early January. Once activated there will be per-incident maintenance fees if anything should go wrong, in addition to the normal licensing and operations fees.
The server itself will be built to your own specifications, but if you want any kind of reasonable performance with more than 5-10 users the hardware will probably cost upwards of $800 US. Again hosting and location fees also apply for the hosting scenario of your choice.
Any statistics would be completely privatized on the new server and there would be absolutely no option of moving statistics between servers (i.e. everyone would start from 0 on the new server). No existing user accounts or statistics will be transferred.
Of course actual details on licensing fees are confidential and a suitable non-disclosure agreement must be established before any specific estimates can be made. However it is extremely unlikely that a small group of users from an online forum would be able to afford the licensing.

So which one is everyone going with? I would like to add to it, but I can not get to http://keycount.piqsoftware.com to download the software. |

I have upgraded to TKC 1.6. And it seems they are working on v2.0. |

Have you tried to submit recently? I just did and nothing. Here's the latest from Apoch about an hour ago: "In any case there seems to be a network problem between the server and the rest of the universe. It's running fine, and sending out data, but not receiving anything."
I wonder if this is a hiccup, or more like some of the recent problems. |

How hard is this to do? Can we find a similar tool somewhere? I'd be happy to host it. |

I have plenty of space to host something in asp or php too and would be happy to host something.

Well, we're off the hook, the site is back.
I'd still love to find our own. |
