Hi,
I would like to open my own server from home, the problem is that IIS has a 10 concurrent connection limit (simultainious connections), my forum is a high traffic forum and i need much more than that, is there a way to remove that limit (except of installing win2k server) or can anyone recommend a web-server program that supports ASP?
Iv'e searched google for a registry tweak to remove the limit but those didnt work, if anyone could recommend a good program i'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,

Mike.

There is only one other web server that supports ASP called Chilisoft, it looks like Sun now owns it:
http://www.chilisoft.com/

However it has quite a steep cost, how about you just purchase Windows 2000 server? It does not have the 10 connection limitations and probably costs less than chilisoft alone.

oh and BTW, I have no idea if Snitz works on Chilisoft, but we all know that it does work on Win 2K server.

Chilisoft (now SunOne) is a supported platform for Snitz. Chili is an asp implementation for Linux/Unix servers. It sounds to me like youre best solution for more users is to get W2K server.

Chili!ASP has always been a product of Sun.
Chili!ASP can run on both Unix and Windows servers.
Chili!ASP can be used to run Snitz Forums 2000.

But your only problem would be the price. If you can pay for it, then you're good to go. But if it is more expensive than Windows 2000 Server, that wouldn't make sense to buy it (IMO).

for Windows XP Pro only
control panel>add remove programs>windows components>IIS

You will need your Win XP Pro CD to do this.

You would want to install IIS 5.1 on Win XP. If you want IIS 5.0 you need to run Win 2K.
