How about a Mod that creates an extra table in the database where 'deleted' topics or posts can be stored with Admin having the ultimate access to remove/delete the contents or part of from the table through an admin panel?
This would solve the problem of posts being deleted and being irrecoverable.
Just an idea

Babygate came up with something along these lines for 3.3.x whereby Admins/Mods could move a reply to a new topic and choose whether or not to leave all subsequent replies in place in the old topic or move them to the new topic. I'm sure it wouldn't take too much to upgrade this so replies could be moved between topics.

For Babygate's mod to work properly, you have to install the threaded forums mod she created as well.
I too would like to see the ability to move topics to different topics, not just new thread, but already existing topics. |

I was gonna do that with my guestbook mod but I figured there is no point, I'm sure Huw has improved upon it in his forum, plus it would take longer to convert it to be 3.4 compliant than it did to write it in the first place... soon enough I'll end up writing new ones.
I just want to start off with something small, Im just at a loss for ideas.
How about standardization of v4 Language Packs, an online langpack test site making use of FSO?

Already been done, very well in fact, I believe its called the "who's online" mod...
Sir DaStimulator,
My member-base is quite interested on seeing who has logged on for the last 24-36 hours. I believe with a little work on the 'Members' list, we can make this appear in a separate dialog box when clicked from within Active Users.
What do you think?

Sounds interesting, I'll see what I can do :)

What about a mod that gives people points in addition to post counts. Members could get a point for each day they login to the forum, 5 points for each new post, a point for each reply, 10 points for filling out their profile, etc.
This could be in addition to the post count or even replace the post count. |

My friend has this on his site (http://www.goand.net) but it is not a snitz.... it was a snitz and he had this working on the site. |

Ah, that would explain why it nearly killed my forums when I tried to install it! Had to hack about for a couple of hours before it would work but it's still a bit tempremental!
How about modding the forums to add a colour tag so that users aren't just limited to the colours in the drop down box but could also specify colours by using something like [ color="#7cc72f" ]text[ /color="#7cc72f" ]. Or would that just involve too much work?

I have dibs on the TV and the recliner.
The title sounded like you were giving stuff away.
Something simple? How about...
Category Sponsorships Allow someone to sponsor a specific category of your forum. Example: http://www.sitepointforums.com
Member Picture/Bio Review page Forums where members are allowed to display pictures and fill out extra information, it might be nice to have a page which displays a list of people who have pictures/bios and even filter out by date last modified. This would allow for the admin to quickly review member pictures for anything naughty or offensive without having to sift through a couple hundred member profiles.
Money Tree hehe...one can only dream.

Other than the Money Tree, these sound the most logical so far, since the Member Filter thing has already been done (although I was going to do it by changing only 1 line of code heh heh heh)..... |

OK, this one I imagine would be fairly easy to do. I'm not aware of a currently existing mod so here goes: Add an option to a user's profile to select whether they would like to be automatically subscribed to any topics which they initiate, reply to, both or none.
I've currently added about 8 characters to post.asp which automatically subscribes all members, but it's forced and it doesn't work for quick replies. I'd really like to see the option in the profile and so would a bunch of my moderators, fellow admins and the members of my forum.
Thanks!!! |

How about a "Reply to This Message" mod where you can click a link and reply specifically to a post. Then, the person who you replied to gets an email (if they have indicated that they would like an email in their profile). This is one of the best features of Delphi, since you don't have to worry when a thread goes off-topic.
Just my $.02....
