Due to increasing (user) problems with my forums, I am going to ban users from deleting their own posts (yes, I know they can edit their post down to "." or similar, but at least there will be some trace of the post being there). I think the best way to accomplish this is to remove the bin icon from every place it exists. So ....
Has anyone done this before ? Would an easy shortcut to replace the bin icon with a 1x1gif ? Any other quick workarounds that I can unwork if this causes even more drama's ?
Thanks for that, NOW I know why it sounded so easy - I was reading that thread the other day thinking "why would anyone want to remove the delete privilege" .... how the world changes so fast
Thanks again Gaurav, I wanted to retain the edit control. I also modded the wording in the delete box so authors know that they can't delete their posts.
