the problem with readyhosting is that i could not run 2 or more forums with ms access backend that had large visitors. that just doesn't work properly there.
right now my site is in trouble because suddenly 2 big sites (our competitors ) closed or have problems with their host.. and in a week or so more than a hundred people registered on my forum and more are on their way.. with such large traffic.... i dont knwo what to do...... i am considering other alternatives such as sql or something..... errr i dont know |

CrystalTech more expensive? One account we moved there was on Verio and we had 30 mailboxes and 200 megs storage and SQL 7 for $100 a month. At CT we get 250 mailboxes(additional 250 is $8/month), 450 megs, SQL 2000 and a huge grab bag of custom components, .NET capable etc for only $49.95 a month. They have Access 2000 ready plans with all the above for $19.95. Just how cheap does one expect a host to be for a serious website??? CT also has extremely helpful tech support 24/7. Well, I could go on and on but I just never considered CT to be expensive. What I found, after looking extensively is that for the level of service they are unbelievably inexpensive. They also have an excellent forum(Snitz!).

Plugging myself here, but my VERY SIMPLE site at www.fulltiltprod.com shows details of an Australian hosting company (no, it's me, I'm just in it for the reselling). All prices are in AUD, but great packages and prices |

@tomic : thats a good plan i saw on their site.. they give u a couple of multiple domains , and 12 Gb .. but still for me its expensive.. but looking at their support. its competitive.
laser : good try to advertise your hosting company. but i myself can buy and provide a unix server same bandwidth and service as yours for very less, you say 30 dollars for your basic plan, i can give it for 5 dollars per month! .. beat that

I have one site over at CI Host and I only leave it there because of the storage available. We get 3 gigs storage and 200 megs in the SQL 2000 database but the service leaves a lot to be desired. But you can't beat 3 gigs storage for $30 a month!

dude storage is no problem. u go with reddi-web, they will give u unlimited storage for $25 per month.
for me what matters most is bandwidth, multi-domain support and support. |

No one would blink at actually using unlimited storage? That's the problem with "unlimited" offers. If you are actually planning on using it you find out there are gotchas. You can't seriously think there is no limit to unlimited.

There are no gotcha's if you can afford the bandwidth to fill up an 80Gb drive, then go ahead, I will just buy another one with the money it cost you to fill it up |

hard disk space is the cheapest consumable in a server, the only reason you get limits like 500Mb or 1Gb is because they have 2-300 sites on each server, so they physically don't have the room. my servers do. |

Sorry, I didn't think it was a competition - just an open discussion of what hosters people used ... and you're talking AUD I assume ?? |

You are quite correct, and we appreciate the info, since we don't see many aussie hosts mentioned here. |
