One more important question.
Why are windows servers expensive than linux ? I am talking about dedicated ones?
I know a person who runs snitz on her window box and then has everything else for same site on the linux box since she said its cheaper there.
and offtopic thing maybe.. did u guys hear that the US Government told all its federal offices to prefer open source software over microsofts or paid softwares ?? and red hat guys had a parade in san francisco later on 2 days back. its good! IMO |

I would guess it's because there's no licencing fees on linux, but your friend could buy Chili!Soft and run Snitz on linux maybe ? |

I use www.chicagowebs.com for hosting. The support is out of this world, and the packages they offer are unbelievable. I've never had any problems. $20/month gets me 250megs hd, 40gigs of monthly bandwidth and more |

While making my own shameless plug I'll put a vote in for my previous host which was www.exa-bytes.com in 6 months I think we had only 1 serious outage and that was resolved pretty quickly. |

For those that want to pay for speed and 24x7 support, Datapipe hosts my business and personal sites.
$39.95 mo. gets 200mb, 10gb transfer, 40 pop accounts, and the best support I've ever come across. Of course, it ain't "cheap", but the difference in server speed and support over the cheapies is what you're paying for.

Ouch. Shop around. If I paid that and got so little I would feel ripped off. My host is 49.95 for 450 megs, 200 megs in SQL server, 20 gigs transfer, 250 mail accounts and the tech support I dare anyone to beat. I am betting Datapipe is a reseller anyway. I can't imagine paying that much and getting mySQL!

I've used a few, I have http://hosting4all.co.uk £30 a year with domain, never any bother with them. The other is http://webstrikesolutions.com first year free and about $80 a year after. Always had great support from them and this is the second domain I've run there. |

Sorry, guys & girls, but some time ago hosting discussions became unwelcome here. Visit one of the many websites dedicated to hosting discussions.
