I am not sure if this is the place to ask ... but I am sure if it is not the fine moderators here will move it to the appropriate place.

I am looking for a new host ... who do you use?

I am not to concerned with the cost as long as they are up all the time and have good support.

My host now doesn't seem to see anything wrong with my site being down 7 - 10 times per day. I let them know ... they "fix" the problem and wish me a good day. I guess they don't realize that they are "fixing" the problem 7 - 10 times per day.

I use Interland. They have pitiful customer service, though. I recently called them to ask about problem I'm having with my favicon.ico, and the rep didn't know what it was. I had to explain. Then I had to tell him how to see them. He couldn't get it, so I had to walk him through the steps of how to bookmark a page to show the favicon. I asked him what version of IE he was running, and he said, "Uh, well, uh, we usually have the latest version here." I was just about to say, "I want you to click on Help on the main menu of Internet Explorer. Now I want you to click About Internet Explorer and tell me what you see there." but I realized how ironic that would be, and I just couldn't stand it any longer.

I want to switch, but they offer a pretty good package for what I need.

I have a fairly in-depth explanation here:

BTW, your type of post most often occurs here:

I use my own host. Very slow... but it does its job for a small quiet community site. I'll move to a professional hosting in a couple of months.

For my personal site I use www.halfpricehosting.com

I got in on it 2 1/2 years ago when their pricing structure was a little different so I'm grandfathered in at $75 a year for their Webmaster Plan. They're pretty good but it takes a few seconds for my site to come up initially.

For where I work, our site is hosted with www.datapipe.com and they've been wonderful. The site comes up quick and they've been very reliable.

I host all my sites off my own server off my cable modem. Only prob doing it this way is my upload is only 256Kbit/sec, so if too many people start getting on the loading times go down somewhat.

Have to agree with you there for 100%. They get even better when you host more than one site with them thanks to the reseller program
