                      | That would be good but I think some sort of admin notification panel would be handy for things like link submission or reports to moderators etc. As it is now you have to log into the admin area and check each of those by going to the page which is annoying if nothing is there and you forget because nothing usually is there. I know this goes beyond the scope of the Link Manager and is itself another MOD.

                      | Another suggestion: Allow alternate sorting options instead of the by ID which it is now. Allow to sort alphabetically, popularity (hits), and rank as well as ID (or submission date).

                      | Being able to assign a Moderator/s to deal with the administration of links.
MOre than two layers of categories/sub-cats, would be beneficial.

Also the ability for a link to exist in more than one sub-cat without resubmitting it to all the categories its appropriate to.

We use ours for listing shops and clubs, and not all have websites, so being able to blank the or use a default URL replacement would be useful, to us, but possibly noone else.

 Just my tuppence

Will be an option for admins to turn on/off.

You will be able to create virtually unlimited subsubsubsub...subcats.

quote:Also the ability for a link to exist in more than one sub-cat without resubmitting it to all the categories its appropriate to.

Not sure about this one. Could easily be abused by someone submitting his links to all categories.

Images and URLs are not required, if no info's submitted, nothing will be displayed.

This one is pretty easy and I was going to do it myself in conjunction with the moderator option MOD but if someone else were to do it I wouldn't mind

                      | I did the Moderator options thing to the Links Manager 2. I ended up recoding the Links Admin pages to a similar authentication process but for Moderators. Bit pants, but it works...:) |

                      | Good to hear that the Links Manager for 3.4 for is being upgraded. Thank you, OneWayMule. I am keenly waiting for the new version. (Can't wait!) Can I ask at what stage you are now? |

                      | I use my current Links Manager a LOT. I have about 300 links in it. A few other suggestions:
 1) allow for a phone number field
 2) allow for an email field
 3) allow for some formatting in the description field, the current one smushes everything together, even if you put a carriage return between content
 4) allow for these fields to be displayed or not on the data collection form and in the presentation of the link data, i.e. I may want to collect it but I may not want to show it.
 5) allow a link to be presented in more than one category
 6) allow for a notice (with link to destination site) between the click of a link and the destination, letting the user know they are about to leave your site, with ability to turn off or on
 7) do not require an URL, many of my customers do not have a website yet

I know some of these have already mentioned but I wanted to confirm some other requests were needed by others.

                      | OneWayMule, How is everything coming with this mod? I haven't heard anything in a while so I'm just a little curious. Thanks.

                      | Just curious at to what is the latest with this mod at the moment? I've been searching through the snitz forums with regard to Links Manager and haven't seen a post that comes to a conclusion on a newer mod.
 Thx

                      | OneWayMule,
I hope this post finds you doing well. I, like many others who have posted, am curious how you are progressing on the MOD? Your work is appreciated. How's it coming?

                      | As I know a couple of members of this forum has upgraded the Links Manager for v3.4. I am just wondering if any of you guys and girls would be willing to share code with us. |

                      | I'm still using the old version on my forums. If you change the includes properly, it should work fine. So if anyone has taken their links section down, just change those includes and you can pop it back up until someone releases a newer version. If you haven't set one up yet, then you might just want to wait. |
