I was wondering if it is a simple enough thing to change the link that goes out inside my emails. Right now it is sending the actual location of the forum. I would like people to enter from another address that sends them there. A friend is hosting the forum for me. I want all those who go to the forum however to associate it with the web-site I configured it for.
I know it automatically puts that address in to link to, how could I put an alternate in just the emails.
Thanks for any time and consideration. vankris |

I guess I assumed that the same footer was on all of them. The one I am sure I read was through an email all users mod, though I was also pretty sure I read it on one I sent to an individual user. (clicking on email through their profile.) I could be wrong. No I'm not! I just checked and it comes at the bottom of my individual emails too.
So whatever help you hvae would be appreciated. Thanks vankris |

Well vrankris, doing that will force you to change the code at the several files that are used to send email. You see, the link is included in the message text and that message text is composed in different files, depending on the type of email being sent (subscriptions, send to friend, email to poster, and so so).
Of course, since you know the existing forum URL (it's really given bystrForumURLyou could also hardcode a replace at the very beginning of inc_mail.asp.
I guess you could try something like this, then, inserting it at line # 39, inc_mail.asp:
strMessage = Replace(strMessage,strForumURL,"Your Desired ForumURL")
I haven't tested this.
