Now that there is a light at the end of the tunnel... I am going to start planning a move to 3.4.
Davio, will there be a new Poll MOD released along with 3.4?
Nathan, will there be an update to Active User for 3.4?
Is sticky topic built into 3.4?
Thanks!

Aaron, understand that most, if not all mods will need to be updated for the 3.4 version. So you will have to wait for the mods that you love/like to be updated for the 3.4 version. During that time you can play around with the 3.4 and get accustomed to it. Maybe go through the upgrade too.
I will be upgrading all my mods to the 3.4 version in the weeks after 3.4 is released. Obviously that isn't something that can be done in 1 day. Plus I will be answering questions concerning the 3.4 version after it is released too. So don't expect any of my mods to be updated within a week. Unless you're willing to do the conversion and then send me the code.

Thanks for the note Davio.
I remember you mentioning that you were working on the new version of the Poll MOD... and I thought that you would be gearing it towards the 3.4 release.
I have to update all my MODS too... so I can definitely understand that there will be a waiting period.
I think we are all excited that 3.4 is finally here (almost)... and I am ready to get going with it.

I think snitz files on this server have been modified. I sensed it while going through people's profiles yesterday. Initially links opened in a new window but now the homepage links open in the same window. ???

Oh crap, I need that feature, and I am not sure I should go with the Beta or not.
I've waited months now, the sole reason being that the language mod would be so kickass.
I'm here to donate blood... Someone elses...
Version 4.0Beta4 should come real a bit after 3.4, so I think you can use it then. If 3.4 was not just around the corner, I'd even tell you to use v.4.0Beta3. v4.Beta4 will be 3.4 with the changes to ease translation that we now have in v.4Beta3. V.4Beta3 is functionally equivalent to 3.3.05.

Will you kill me Rui ? What do you mean by saying "a bit"? I plan to add more stuf to v4b04 other than extracting the strings... Admin stuff, date-time stuff, etc.

It shouldn't affect the working of most mods, but you will need to reinstall them very carefully as the base code is significantly different
This will not be the case for v4. Most of the MODs must be re-scanned to be made multi-lingual. Plus language packages must be prepared by volunteers .

Itsy bitsy request
You know the part that is at the beginning of most of the Snitz files?
The part that goes like this ...
<% '################################################################################# '## Copyright (C) 2000-01 Michael Anderson and Pierre Gorissen
Even if the copyright credits are different on this and subquential releases, is there a possibility that the download could look something like this? ...
<% '################################################################################# '## Copyright (C) 2000-01 Michael Anderson and Pierre Gorissen v3.4
This is for troubleshooting purposes and to help people know where the ???? they got that certain file from.
It will help also when MODs are packaged using the forum files from the MOD creator's current version. It just makes it easier to keep track of things especially when helping other people with their questions. The "What version are you using?" or "What version was this written from?" could be easier for newbies to answer.
I am VERY grateful for all the hard work and consistent support! Job well done! Much praise is due!!
Thanks for the new version,
Etymon

It's a good idea, but that's what the ALT text on the "powered by" link/image is for.

MOD writers should include a readme file (be it in TXT or HTML format) that states which version the MOD is compatible with.

Oh yeah. I am still working on it. I am going to release it for the 3.3.05 version, then move it over to the 3.4 version. That way users who don't want to upgrade can use it. And it will be easier for me to port it to the 3.4 version.
I just have some slight problems with finishing the mod, but I should have it out for testing soon.

All the versions I have downloaded from Snitz I have added their versions to them in this way. In TextPad, it took me less than two minutes to do a Find and Replace for that phrase for each download.
I don't think what I am requesting is that much of a bother to do ... five minutes tops.
