Thanks for all the previous replies on the last topic. My forum is up and getting there. I am now wondering if there is anyway to link to a homepage outside my forum file directory using the alloted spot that says "Home" on my forum page. I would like to do this to conserve space where my forums are hosted at Brinkster.

Mark

What do you mean? Are you creating a new file?

Forgive my ignorance ruirib. I mean as in my directory. Do they remain, say..."setup.asp", for example? They do not need .html added to them? I ask because that is the only way they seem to load.

No problem with your doubts. That's why you come to this forum.
Yes, the files name needs to remain unchanged. I saw that you are using brinkster as a host.

Did you download the brinkster files? Are those the ones you are trying to upload?

when you use asp, it is best to turn off friendly http error messages in IE. You can do this by

tool --> internet options --> advanced tab --> uncheck show friendly http error messages

then when you run a asp page, it will show you the error instead of a message saying this page can not be displayed. if you try running an asp page and it asks you to download the file, then that means your host does not support asp.

Never edit your original post unless you've made a typo or have more info and don't have any replies yet.
It's weird to read a question with replies that don't make sense, not to mention people who have the same problem as you had won't be able to find the solution because the question doesn't excist anymore.
