Probably in the future a web interface will do fine :).
Sounds like a great idea :) Maybe you can implement an automated check to see if we don't delete/remove/add wrong vars.

Let me also take the chance to congratulate on the absolutely superb work you're doing with the Internationalization of Snitz. Really great job !
Thank you, but it's just the start. I also want to thank you all in providing your help in translating and sharing ideas. Without the help, effort and interest all of you put in, it wouldn't have any worth .

Well Snitz is just a great community... But as far as I'm concerned my own efforts are not comparable to yours. I can't even imagine the hours and the effort you have put into this. And what's more, the quality of your work is really great (I'm a bit into software engineering, so I should know a bit about this). That's really what I wanted to acknowledge with message.
So bozden, hope you can keep the good work and I'll do whatever I can to help.
Cheers.

Here it goes:
The following Language files (that I re-received recently) PASSED the compatibility test of LangPackManager v1a001:
1031 (German, both Du and Sie) 1043 (Dutch-Nederlands) 1049 (Russian) 90010 (Frisian)
Thank you again!
Now, a couple of things:
1) Shall I start a new (locked) topic and announce the finished LangFiles or LangPacks, with a download link from my usual area, or would you like to keep it on your side and let me put a link to that site?
2) It can be the case that some of the words in Language Packs are NOT translated. I can also get a report of this and post here if you like. There must be some (~50?) phrases that can stay as is (Yahoo, AIM, etc, some other languages may have same words like English ones etc). But interesting enough, "1031 Du" and "1031 Sie" reported two different matching numbers.
3) I'm waiting for other LangPacks .

I'd rather have a site where all the language packs are, as long as we can easily change the translation. As you suggested, maybe through a web interface, or maybe just by simple e-mail.

Maybe also send it to the translator, not everybody checks this forum every day.

Maybe ask around in the specific workgroups (if you haven't done it already )
Just noticed that there are a lot of maybe's in this post, hmmm, I need to spice up my vocabulary.

I suppose you meant LCID=2070?!

So I apologize for asking, but there are somethings I need to know relating to this report:
1. 59 not translated means that there are 59 strings that I missed, and still need to be translated (oh boy how could it happen )? 2. I guess I can delete strLangPop_Pword00140 and should add the other two to my file, right?!
Thanks for the info...

What I mean was just for the current status (v4b03.003). The next step (v4b04) will take some time. In the meantime we can solve the last part of chapter 4.6 of the documentation (packaging and distribution). I think it will not be a good idea to keep them in a completely different web site. Good candidates can be current sourceforge project, a new sourceforge project, this website, ...

OK. I'll only inform those from whom I received the langpacks through e-mail.

No I didn't, because I think they would not miss this hot topic. I think I have to send individual e-mails to people who were related with translation (This needs some "archival" work). I'll be very happy if someone helps me in doing this. Just to scan this forum and extract a list of people who were leading the translations in particular languages. If we can have it as a table, we will also have a list of languages/locales "touched". Then you can use the e-mail feature from member profiles to send a small message poinint to this (or a new?) topic, and inviting them to catch with v4b03.003 (a very small work) before a more major change (v4b04).

Yes, sorry for the typo.

No, as stated a couple of posts above (and indicated with (?) sign, it is just a "suspect". Because I cannot test the contents of the translation, I'm trying to check whatever I can. There will be a lot (50-60) strings that will not be translated (How can you translate "Yahoo" ). But for sure, there is a risk.
I will also put a check for this case: "Report all variables, where the English contents are the same and translated contents are not the same"
In this case, it can be a mistake, or just a better translation in that concept.

Exactly . Sorry for the unclear wording there. This is version 1 alpha 001.

Ok, just sent you a revised version of the lang2070.asp only.
Hope this one behaves better. But I guess much of the non-translated suspects are really the ones you referred to: YAHOO, password (didn't translated this one, everyone knows what it is) and the like. I guess I'm feeling more relaxed now...

Bozden,
I noticed that this is new: strLangFaq01240 = "Lost User Name and/or Password" Is this a question for the FAQ page? If so, is there a new answer for the question that goes along with it?

Just sent an updated version of 1041, incorporating changes to a current version, 4.03. Please do a version compatibility testing on this one.

I sent a personal e-mail to all people working in Language Pack Development to inform them on this and the status in "Start Internationalization Here" topic.
Edit: I did not sent it to those who already did their homeworks and their package passed the LangPackManager .
