I am using Snitz 3.4.03 with an accessDB. How can i hide the email adress of a member, like in this forum. I cannot find a checkbox in the admin options/feature comfiguration, where i suppose it should be, but i did find a variable: strhideemail in: forum variables information/application variables. How can i change this setting? Is this a bug? And is it nessesary to enable e mail when the e mail adress is hidden? I suppose it is, because it seems to me that the forum is sending the e mail in this case.

That is also what i supposed, but please have a look at our forum: www.musicmonk.com/hdforum2/default.asp The e mail adresses are obviously shown! Not in the members list, but when you click on a member to see his/her profile you will see the e mail adress. Another thing what puzzles me is why someone who is not logged in, can see the members list and members profiles. Thanks in advance, Jan. < |

You are right, i checked it out. i did confuse 4.0Beta3 / 4.03 with 3.4.03. It looks a bit the same to a beginner, but you are right, we used the 4.0Beta 3 because there is a dutch language file available for this version. I suppose these are the usual Beta problems, that's why it is still a Beta version. Thanks for your help anyway, with best regards, Jan< |

You're welcome. I'm moving this to the proper forum now. I would advise the the Hide Email mod, but I don't know where it cn be found now, since Snitz Exchange, where it could be found, is now closed.< |

We installed the mod from the previous posting, and wrote a Dutch version of it, but it did not work allright yet. When you try to send an e mail it shows :send an email, but no e mail pop up window appears. We will try to find out what's wrong.< |

Very well possible that we made a mistake with the installation of the mod, a small mistake can make things not work. Did not mean to say that the mod is not allright. We just do not have the time to work out what went wrong, so we put everything back as original for the time being.< |

Hi all, I'm using V4b03.x also and had the same concern as expressed by H-D rider about members list and profile for member email address... I tried the international version of hidemail posted here and having problems as well. I would greatly appreciate if you can kindly post further progress on this item when you successfully deployed it.
BTW, I have Active Users 4.01 MOD (and Events Calendar) also running at this forum and wondering whether AU4.01 setup and this hidemail mod causing some conflicts....
TIA
This particular issue is resolved with a different approach - hiding Members from non-registered visitors totally, as did for Profile which requires a registration. Thanks for your attention. < |
