actually, it's not really the screen that gets covered in thumb prints on the Touch, just the nice shiny black back!!! gave up polishing after about 10 mins < |

Work supply me with a HTC TyTN II and I have unlimited data on that (work pays), been looking at the iPhone (3G) for personal and could get a non 3G 16Gb model for $530 delivered to the door.
Then again we are going to move to Blackberry's at work and I go to a launch next week of the Blackberry Bold (here in Australia), where I am told they are giving them out for free to the invited people (me).< |

I've been thinking of a BlackBerry too, specifically for the pushmail functionality, but here in the Netherlands BlackBerry devices are pretty expensive. Only Vodafone and KPN sell them, and the subscriptions with pushmail are all over 40 euro's a month. On the iPhone I've now enabled VPN access to my work (AtosOrigin), and the Exchange mail/calender and contacts is pulled every couple of minutes ; they haven't enabled pushmail yet on our Exchange infrastructure. I cannot be on VPN all day though ; after 10 minutes or so it closes the connection.
I'm hoping that Google will enable pushmail on GMail soon and integrate the Google Calender and their contacts feature. Then, my iPhone is a real 'fake' BlackBerry.
About the fingerprints and greasy finger stains on the iPhone ; yup, that is an issue at least for the back of the iPhone. On the front, you see the stains only when the screen is off. I gave up polishing the back too after 10 minutes....
I now keep it in a sock-like thing my wife knitted for me 2 years ago ; it was a snug fit for my other phones, and even the iPhone fits in perfectly.< |

After leaving Nokia in 2002 for Windows Mobile (PocketPC) Ipaq 6310/ Qtec2020/ Qtec9090/ HTC Compact/ HTC Touch Cruise/ HTC Touch Diamond i now switched over to the Iphone 3G. For me, Windows user and Apple hater, a cultureshock!
And yes, the GPS function is not like the TomTom experience on WM and the phone part is not the best available on the market but mobile internet is really another experience. To my humble opinion there is at this moment no real competition for the Iphone 3G regarding access/ look and feel for internet. And when flash arrives i will be nearly perfect. Besides the Appstore and gaming possibilities.
At this moment 10 million+ Iphones (not counting Ipod Touch with Wifi) are sold and these users really DO use internet.
For that reason there should be a porting, mod or other improvement for Snitz to service Iphone.
BTW: in the Netherlands de Iphone package for T-mobile is not bad at all. Here in Amsterdam the 2m/bit flatfee subscribtion is enough for me at a reasonable price.< |

hey! I know that link
@ arnold
I still have my HTC P3300 with GPS that runs TomTom 6 to move me throu the streets of Denmark, if only Apple give the green light to TomTom (they already have it working and ready to ship, but no permision the Cuppertino company.
It's not just the web, I do love to read my email on the iPhone, I do love the free apps that I have that save me a bunch, like money converters, wifi search spots, etc.
Here in DNK the prices are costly regarding the iPhone (well, starting with the 25% VAT)! 1699 dkk (230 Euros) to get one and 6 month paying 599 dkk (80 Euros) the monthly payment includes, free calls to the same mobile network and landline numbers, 300 minutes to other country lines (other mobile networks), free sms to denmark, 300Mb of data.
I did turn 3G off cause it swallows battery! so I'm only using Edge and still looks fine from here :)< |
