IPB does all that as well.
I would agree with the CSS. There aren't a "ton" of changed to make to add it to V4 so it's probably best to do it now before it is released.< |

Something I forgot to say: I think that it'll be better if you remove the "Your reply has been post succesfully", and do directly a redirect to the last post (yours) in the correct page/topic.
I've modded this part, and it works pretty quickly (and you can save some broadband).< |

Four months down the track, 2 months after my last post, and no news at all.
Is there ANYTHING that the community can be told about v.4 that we don't already know ? ... like a feeling on the release date, or progress in the last few months ?< |

There has been some discussion and a start made on version 4, but has been stalled since then. Mostly due on my part.
We should be releasing an update in the coming days for security fixes and bug fixes along with continuing development on v4.< |

The way I read Huw's post, is that it's finished with some minor tweaking to do.< |

We have had some discussions since then. Believe we are moving the language variables to the database instead of storing them as global variables. When more than 1 language pack is installed, takes up a lot of resources on the server.< |

Very nice indeed, and fast! The basic version makes Snitz look prehistoric.
I can't see v4 - wherever it may be - even coming close. Sad but true. < |

Actually, I wouldn't like to see Snitz end up draped with do-dads like that other forum. It looks messy. But then thats a matter of opinion.
"Communication" is the essence of a forum in a mature sense. Photos and polls are essential - avatars not at all really.
Again, its a matter of taste and opinion. Adolescents will prefer more "gee-whiz-bang" and mature adults (geezers) will prefer "clean & simple".
Preferences will vary depending on demographics. Functionality is important. Modification is important.

Even with all of those "do-dads", it still seems very fast.
As long as they can be turned off in the admin panel, then it could be clean & simple for the erm, mature adults.

That other software uses CSS throughout so it's probably very 'skinable'.
Don't think I'm knocking Snitz. It's the progression of the software that I know and have enjoyed using over the last five years that is frustrating.< |

I'd like to see the Search function enhanced to display results not just as thread but as posts as an option< |
