Beside this discussión, I'll want to post my "want-to" requests: + I think it would be nice the CSS-aclaimed-change. As I said in other post, for me, the forum-style seems a bit 'old' (and difficult to re-configurate) + A "Report Moderator" button (as the one used in VBbulletin), to quick-report Topics or messages that go against your forum rules. - Maybe some improvements in the forum-code ([b*][/b*] and similar): instead of, when cliking, both open&end tags appear, just place the first one, type the code and then click to "close tag" + User Time (instead of global-forum time). It will be useful to comunitys with people of all around the world. I'll really apreciate this one. - A more integrated Control Panel for users (as in invision or vbbulletin).
'+' ones are those that I think are more important/interesting (for me, of course), '-' ones are just "ideas" (not priority (for me again)).
P.S: +++++ : That the proyect really go on, with a new update of Snitz Forums within next year (or before). Thanks for reading.< |

You've got most of the big ones, though one of the things I've been thinking a lot about has to do with the user profiles...
I'd like to see it where it's easier to add/remove user attributes and easier to make something required/optional.< |

I thought snitz already was upgradable... if Im thinking in the same sense ase you, which is if you get the new version, you should be able to upgrade seamlessly by running setup.asp, which you can.< |

For this you need a mod, it is not possible to make a generic search which will work on all database flavours without timing out.< |

Upgradable (1): Even major changes came out with coding, instead of adding "support" lines inside code (such as replacing old tags which slows it down) making a upgrade setup that changes all previous tags in database once, rather than addding slow legacy code for rest of forum life.
Upgradable (2): If mods added in wishlist (such as private messages, smile manager) making it so, that most successful mods can be upgraded to new version in database.

Here's a few additions.
- Super admin ability (system wide settings removed from assigned admins)
- Moderation queue
- Report post and queue tied to forum for discussion of reported posts
- Actions on report post (Say you have a report for copyright infringement selection. This one should have the ability to put the post on hold immediately to remove it from normal users view.)
- Opt out receiving emails from users and site separately
- Watch topics (bookmark to cp function)
- Mute user (user and admins can see his posts, but other users can't)
- Hide or archive instead of delete posts (option to purge after time)
- Move reply to another topic
- Move reply to new topic
- Post url links as topics that appear in the forum.asp display
- Unanswered posts
- Digest for subscription notices
- Mail subscription notice once between topic reads
- Boolean type of forum access (say number of posts to view or post in forum)
- Admin/mod activity logging
- Hash in posts to prevent multiple inserts without refresh
- Multiple signatures to allow users to save sigs and toggle between
- Allow username changes by members with restrictions such as post count and disable ability
- Members to see indicator of whether they've posted to a topic
- DB driven profile fields
- Check name button on register
- Moved topic pointers
- Track moved and deleted topics per user
- Group based permission system on top of member groups
- Totally modular permission system (This would require a post in itself. Basically the ability to choose any number of permissions per individual category/forum/post.)
- Separate member info table
- Permission and level information held separate from member info (allows sharing members between different forums with different management)
- Buddy lists with online indicators
- Dynamic member group associations (allow members to group themselves arbitrarily)
That's just off the top of my head without looking at a forum. I could come up with pages after sitting down and using mine for a bit.< |

I'd just like to see an official statement from the Dev Team regarding direction. We can suggest all we want, but if they are shaking their head then it won't be done.< |

Well, if a Dev Team member is adding suggestions, I'd imagine development is still at a very early stage. I guess the Team will let us know how things stand soon enough.< |
