for windows 2000 go to control panel - Administrative tools - Internet Services Manager - right click on the virtual directory you've created for the forums and select properties. in the properties window - select the Directory Security tab - then press the Edit button for "Anonymous access and authentication control". In the Authentication Method window - uncheck the Anonymous access and check the "Integrated Windows Authentication". hope this helps.
I have a site set up specifically for Snitz forums. There are multiple admins using subfolders under the site to host their own forums. As an example: I have a /web folder for the Web team, a /hr folder for Human Resources. I want HR to authenticate using NT, and the Web Team to authenticate against the database. They are two different forums under the same virtual directory. Is it possible to have my cake and eat it too?
I'm going to try to answer my own question. No...I turned on NT Authentication and was not able to access the Web forum without authenticating to the domain. I was able to authenticate against the domain and use NT authentication for the HR forum, but when I changed back to allow anonymous users my password for Administrator had changed. Now I'm trying to figure out how to recover the admin password!
