Oh, didn't see that earlier (well, I did, but I chose to ignore it ). Anyway, thanks a lot, the avatares rule.

Heh, I have another problem. Whenever someone clicks to edit their profile or tries to register, it says the page cannot be found. Any ideas what could be wrong?

EDIT: Sorry, nevermind. I think it's my server's fault, although I'm not 100% sure.

Hi Richard,

I just downloaded your mod and installed it w/o any problems. I can use the whole Forum and I get no errors.

But there is nothing on my profile page and nothing on the register page...

There were some people in this Thread who had the same problem, but I haven't really found a answer. (perhaps I just missed it :) )

I would be very thankful if you could help me

Greetings from Cologne (Germany),

Christian Meyer

The software is installed correctly, but I am unable to register any user names whatsoever. Any suggestions?

I'm getting the following message:

There Was A Problem With Your Details

Username may not contain the word

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Q Manning

Hi I'm trying to install the avatar mod.

I have the version 3.3.0.2 of the forums.

When I try to update the database using mod_dbsetup.asp, the page never appears the activity icon in the browser never quits either. I've tried this with a new/clean database file too, but still no luck.

Any suggestions?

OKay I installed without a hitch as I always do with Richard's MODs I am only having two issues thus far:
First, an error message when trying to delete an avatar:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01c2'

Wrong number of arguments or invalid property assignment: 'chkUser2'

/tidbits/pop_avatar_delete.asp, line 52

Second I can't seem to get any of the avatars to be added. They never show up in the edit/modify properties section. I am logged in as admin and I try to add an avatar saved locally and it never shows it gives me the placeholder and that is it. I have them saved under the forums directory/avatars/

TIA,

Change chkUser2 to chkUser.

The new avatars you want to add should be saved in the directory new_avatars.

Ok I decided to upgrade to the new version 3.3.03, and I downloaded the avatar mod that is supposed be for version 3.3.

When I clikc the MOD setup link, I still get the same behavior. The browser never gets done downloading the page and the database get locked.

I don't have any other mods installed.

What's up with this? How do I get the avatar mod installed?

Thanks for your help,

- bones

OKay I got it installed and thanks again to Richard for the updated files. Now I only have one slight problem; I can't seem to get them to display in the review section when I add them. I have tried virtual path to absolute and I can get neither to work. I even changed the folder where the avatars are stored to "new_avatars" as suggested in this thread to no avail. Perhaps I have done something wrong?

TIA,

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the link. I had just previously taken a riske and uploaded to the remote server and tried it there, which ended up working. I then copied the database back to my system.

That looks like a great link for the future.

Thanks a lot,

-bones
