Hi im setting up a website that will have multiple subdomains each using a different forum, but i want users to be able to share there same login info across each forum. In the snitz install page it said to chang the value strTablePrefix, but leave the strMemberTablePrefix value alone.
Problem is that inc_create_forum_access.asp dosen't create all of the proper tables to do a fresh install of the database. Ive searched the forums and I cant find anybody who has had this problem, which supprises me.
so if ANYONE CAN HELP PLEASE thanks.

Just a thought, but have you searched for your question? There have been a number of people asking the same or similar, and the short answer is yes - you can run multiple forums that share login information. inc_create_forum_access.asp doesn't create any tables in Access because Access is NOT the type of database you are going to want to use for something like that. Get a real RDBMS like SQL Server or MySQL.
For detals, check the dozzen or so posts floating around here. |

Personally I have been running several Snitz forum based sites for several years and glad they are not all in one database. That would be a nightmare and so huge it would now be unmanageable.
All you need to do is make a page for "Join Another Site Here", let them choose a site, make sure they are on logged on, and then just copy their member data and insert it into the other sites database.
I have been meaning to do this on my sites for awhile but never got a...
Hehehe ;-}
