ctsolutions,
I have updated the location of the Mod and demo's to reflect my new server. Please refer to the first post in this thread for the URL's.
Sorry about that, it was out of my control.

Morning,
Please excuse my ignorance..
I started with a site http://www.mybay.co.za "still in Dev" I have a local copy of this that I work on, and I thought hey a Portal..cool..
I created a new site at home on IIS extracted a clean copy of Huws' V4R2 899kb into a forum directory and the Snitz_Portal_Beta_v2.zip 54kb into the root of the web.
full rights have been assigned to the databases. when I open the root web I see the whole bang shoot less formatting.. I login in as admin and as soon as I try to access the admin home I get the following error
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'
Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'count(UserID) Guests'.
/Forum/inc_top.asp, line 345
Now as soon as I go to the root web this is the same error.. It appears as soon as I log into the database things go wrong.
I try and see what the Portal should look like.. but the following link is dead and has been for about a week..
http://www1.7host.com/ninjaman/Portal/Resources.asp?catid=5&cattitle=Snitz Suggests %2D Books&area=0
http://www1.7host.com/ninjaman/Portal/Resources.asp
Please can someone help.. If possible mail me the Correct/Latest version of the forum and Portal.
When I use "Huw's Mod" Mod to update the databse with the Portal settings I get some error about wrong fields or something.. E-mail, nemesis@intekom.co.za Thank you

Hi ctsolutions
I have [Snitz Forums 2000 Version 3.1 SR4] Preferably the HuwR's SR4 release. Colors and Graphic scheme done by Richard Kinser. I want to integrate the forum into my site, that is when I started playing with the Portal Mod and things went wrong..
Thank you for your time.. again...

Hi there, quote: Does anyone have any idea why I would get this..? Nothing is open on my pc, I open IE in portal/resources.asp I got this error but I could see the inc_top perfectly in the admin section. I checked the pollmentor setup in Admin and it was disabled..??? so I enabled it and now the error shows everywhere..
I opened the database changed the PollMentor = 0 in FORUM_MODS and same thing.. Never had this before..???
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Could not use ''; file already in use.
/forum/inc_pollmentor.asp, line 9
I got it figured out.. security to folder as well as database.. . Thanks

Evenin..
I have a new one.. <again>
Take a new Web Folder Call it Portal. Extract Portal Mod to Root Folder. Create Folder in Root Called Forum. Extract Snitz Forums 2000 Version 3.1 SR4 to the Forum Folder. Update the config.asp with DB Src.
The Problem. Resources.asp has included files <!--#include file="Forum/inc_functions.asp"--> <!--#include file="Forum/config.asp"--> <!--#include file="forum/inc_top.asp"-->
BUT none of the specifics are filtering to the Portal Site. No colors, names, images nothing.
Is there something missing in my database that is supposed to reference that there is a portal site/Resources.asp..?
Please help..

HuwR has asked this question before, the answer is on the previous page. The solution to your problem will entail copying all the forum setup files:
setup.asp setup_login.asp config.asp inc_functions.asp inc_create_forum_mysql.asp inc_create_forum_sql6.asp inc_create_forum_sql7.asp
And then running the setup.asp page from the Portal Mod directory. All of your colors and such will be updated...
This thread is closed, I will be releasing the final version of this mod in about 20 minutes (5:30pm EST) in a new thread.
Could an admin be so kind as to close this thread? Please hold all your questions until I post the new thread.
Sincerely,
