This has been requested more times than I can count, so here you go:
The directions and the two icons I created for this are here: http://www.keystonecapitalchorus.org/forum/topicwatch.zip
The demo is here: http://www.keystonecapitalchorus.org/forum
The pop_delete code hasn't been tested yet, but it should work. A request is there to subscribe to a whole forum. That code isn't there yet, but hopefully I can get to that this weekend. No promises though...
Good luck!!!

Dave, What release did you use? I get an error when trying to view a topic: Too few parameters. Expected 1.
/baxffl/board/FORUM.asp, line 117
thought I had the most recent sr3 version, and some of my code did not look "exactly" as your txt file.

I'm using the version 3 code. I did make the changes manually to get it up to SR3, but I didn't upgrade cleanly since I had already made a lot of changes to my code.

Dave, what was the status on this? Did you manage to add the "sub to whole forum" feature?
Thanks, Infinity

the code that we have to edit in post_info.asp:
<b>Do a find on Go_Result "Update OK", 1 and add Topic_Watch() on a new line above it.</b>
there are about 5 or 6 instances of Go_Result "Update OK", 1 in this file. does Topic_Watch() need to be added above all of these?

Hi davemaxwell and co...
Another few weeks have past since my last post in here... Just wanted to take another stab at finding out what the current status is on this mod and on the work you (dave) said you were going to do in it? Not rushing or pushing... just thought it had got pretty quite in here and this is a mod I was very interested in.
Cheers,
infinity

I have almost got it completed. I am also working on a "full moderation feature and I have to add the code for both mods into the same files, so I've been working on getting them together. I hope to be done by the end of the week. Sorry for the delay.

davemaxwell, Thanks alot for this mod but I was wondering if you could possibly explain what it means by "subscribing to a topic".
Does it mean that you're not necessarily participating (i.e. posting) in it, however, you're getting emails' that someone has posted in it? Sorry for the ignorance, just want a little clarification.
Thanks.
Cheers, Tim

Correct. Say you've found a topic you want to follow, but don't have anything useful to contribute. This mod allows you to "subscribe" to a topic and receive emails everytime someone posts to it. Once you have found the answer you're looking for or have gotten tired of it, you can "unsubscribe" from it so you won't get any more emails about it.
My version also allows whole forums to be subscribed to, and will allow for whole categories to be subscribed to as well. This option will be very useful for moderators or admins who want to keep up with the activity in a forum/category.
Of course, all the subscription levels will be configurable by the admin. He/She will be able to choose how broad a range of subscriptions will be allowed on their forum.
If I haven't explained this well enough or you think there's something I've overlooked, please let me know.

Thanks for the update Dave. Really, no appologies called for. You're doing what you can. I appreciate the work you are doing on this mod (and the work you and others do on all th mods) - it is exactly this input that makes Snitz such an excellent and joyful application to work with.
I look forward to the final code...
Regards,
Infinity

davemaxwell, Thanks for the explanation. This would really be useful for someone that is providing something like a "support" board and don't have time to check the board. I would love to have that feature myself before the rest of my hair falls out.
Cheers, Tim
