Is there anyone using Snitz as a Issue Tracker to tracks the jobs/works/issues? (or do you know any mod for this)
Thanks..< |

there are plenty of purposely designed issue tracking code that is free, I suggest you download one rather than try to make the forum do it.< |

I do keep some to-do stuff in a private forum for some of my forums, no MOD required.
Having said that, FogBugz is free for single developers, and quite well priced for corporate use. You can buy it as a service or get the code to host in-house.
Alternately, there are a number of other projects out there (some free, some not) that work at varying levels.

I've come across a few others, I just didn't bookmark the URLs...< |

Set up your categories appropriately for your "issue system" and each topic can be a separate issue. Work on the issue within the topic. When it's resolved, add "SOLVED" to the end of the topic title and lock it. All solved Topics/Tickets will go to the bottom, and unsolved will stay at the top.< |

I would still suggest that a purpose built issue tracking system would be much better, they contain functionality that is just not in a forum< |

bugzilla for bug tracking. There are tools like Trac that is more All-in-one, with plenty of features, Wiki, Bug tracking, project management, you can hook up your SVN and track versions in Trac as well...
there are plenty of choices out there, but, don't use Snitz, it is not it's intention to be used as a issue tracking system, there are plenty of features that you will end up wanted nd you need to develop for yourself.< |

Thanks a lot.
Why I want to use snitz is that the below items already available in Snizt; - user management
- Easy to use editor
- admin and mail system
especially the user management part. I can use Snitz user management and can write my own issue tracking tool actually, but I think it'll take too much time for me to understand Snitz code to implement it into my system.
I think I'll look for issue tracking system from the net, or I'll write my own.. Thanks again..< |
