It appears that my hosting company moved my stuff to a newer platform, and since they did, now I get this error every time that I try to logon to my forum.

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Operation must use an updateable query.

/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 585

Does anyone have a clue as to why I am getting this and how can I resolve it? I have checked the permission to ensure that these directories are writable. Thanks for any assistance.<

you need to ask your hosting company to enable read/write/modify permissions for the IUSR_XXXXXXXX account on your access database folder.

unless you have a dedicated server there is no way for you to check this at all, as they are system level permissions.<

Thanks for the quick reply. I will contact the host and ensure that they modify these permissions. Thanks Again, I will report back if that fixed it or not.<

I did a rebuild of FP extensions on my domain, and it messed up my database folder permissions. This post helped me resolve the issue quickly.
