Hi,

Please could somebody help, we have a large number of forums which at the moment we have no restrictions on access. However soon we want to allow a new group users access a small number of forums whilst blocking them from accessing the rest of the site.

What would be the most straight forward way to restrict access to this new group of users?<

It sounds like you might want to look at the UserGroups MOD. New people can auto-join a "Newbie" group, and then you can move them to another group later on - or as has been posted elsewhere, have them "upgrade" when they hit x posts. That way all you have to do is set permissions for the two groups and the rest will manage itself.

Keep in mind that this recommendation comes from the small amount of information you've provided. <

If you are using the NT Auth. You can set a global group they are in and only let them have access to some forums.<
