When some new users try to register the verification mail to some users fails like this: " xxxxx@hotmail.com Delivery failed 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. If you are not an e-mail/network admin please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for help. For e-mail delivery information, please go to http://postmaster.live.com"
This happens to yahoo and hotmail and a few more email addresses. The mails from our Forum seem to be treated like spam. However, when I manually send a mail from my forum at web it works OK. So it seems to be the way the mail has been built.
What can I do to prevent this?

Sadly, there is so little you can do about this - it's a case of spammers spoiling email for the rest of us.
Hotmail/yahoo/some others will have some (unpublished and proprietary) rules for blocking emails they suspect to be junk mails in an attempt to protect their customers. They won't tell you which rule you're bumping up against, as as soon as they do, every spammer will step around that very rule in an effort to push flood junk on people again.
Another reason why I hate greedy self-serving spammers - sad, isn't it. |

Sadly, if you come up with a way better than the spammers, they'll read all about it, reproduce it, and then it'll be blocked.
It really riles me how horrid and greedy people can be - their rewards will come in hell, I'm sure...well I can only hope at least! |

It still depends on the e-mail provider and whatever Byzantyine (or should that be Bayesian ) system they attempt to block spam with.
For example: Excite is blocking my host's mail server - so it doesn't matter what text is in there. |
