I'm using 3.4.06 with Gatekeeper and the Site Integration mod too.

I'd like to restrict membership to paid up club subscribers, so that only they can post topics or reply to them, while allowing anyone to view the forums.

I'm thinking that I can set require registration in E-mail Server Configuration - is that right ?

However, we have a problem that there are many cities where there subscribers with the same or similar names, for example James Bell, James R. Bell, Jimmy Bell, Jim Bell in London.

Which files do I need to change to add Address to Member Details Configuration and force it to check for completion, please ?

There have been posts before about making fields mandatory. JJenson also wrote a mod that I believe was meant to allow you do define which member profile details should be mandatory. Try searching the Mod W/Code forum for JJenson's mod.

The Mod when activated forces the person to enter their full names in 2 fields. I have added to that a membership field (renamed the occupation one) and after trial and error managed to succeed.
If you look at the files that come with the download you can work out the code that forces completion of the field and amend as necessary.
Whatever you do, make a back up first.
