I notice the Read Stats dosen't discriminate against the creator of the topic. So every time I look at a topic it increases the read #. It gets to the point where the numbers look quite unrealalistic. Is there a way it can single out that particular IP address and only count one read for that IP.... |

I suppose you could yes, but then it would no longer be a read count.
You should also maybe do some research on IP addresses since one IP address does not mean one person, since several people can share the same IP and one person could have more than one IP |

you want something like FlickR does
"6 views (not counting yours)" kinda thing, right?
Well, it's all possible and all you need to do is implementing an IF clause, and see if the logedin username is the same as the username on the topic.
but once again, like HuwR says, it will no longer be a "Read Count". |

This forum is implemented in a corporate setting where each computer has a single IP address. Most of the time (99%) each computer is in front of their own computer.... |

Still better to use Member IDs, though.
