Hi all,
1.) I've just setup a new forum www.uslawforums.com . I registered as a new member to test the email confirmation, I can receive the email but the link is not working, no page found when I clicked on the confirmation link. How to resolve this issue?
2.) I used Frontpage to publish the websites, the Access database was moved by Frontpage to another folder. This did not cause any problem during the configuration. But will it cause the problem in question 1?
3.) When I visit the www.uslawforums.com, it sometimes goes to www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=2" target="_blank">http://www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=2 (without catergories displayed) and sometimes goes to www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=1" target="_blank">http://www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=1 (shows all the catergories). How to configure the setting so that the page always shows www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=1" target="_blank">http://www.uslawforums.com/default.asp?Group=1 (shows all catergories) when I enter www.uslawforums.com in browser.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Pdrg,
I tried the second time, and it works. But still do not know the reason of the first time failure.
But how to troubleshoot the 3rd problem? Sometimes the homepage show all categories and sometimes don't. I'd like to make the homepage always show all categories.
Can I remove the drop list of "change categories group" and the "group category menu"? How to do it without leaving any potential script issue in future?
Thanks.

Hi Johnvaam,

Glad we cleared up some at least

My hunch is that you either have a DNS/forwarding setting wrong, or you have some yicky glitchy cookies issue leftover from when it was all going wrong. Delete your cookies, clear your browser cache, try again.

I don't know about groups - is this a modified forum? Maybe someone else can help, but I'm guessing you've only set up one group, so if Group=1 ISN'T at the end of the querystring, you'll see nothing, what you describe as Group=2 is probably just a lack of value for group (ie Group= ) which seems to have the same effect.

Hi Pdrg,
Maybe you are right for the root-cause of that email confirmation problem, I did not clear the cookies when I used another email to register for testing.
No, this is not a modified forum, it still using the default setting at this moment. Which snitz forum can I post a question about this group issue?
Thanks.

Best regards,
Johnvaam

Hi Pdrg,
I already troubleshot the last problem. I added all the categories into the default category. Now no matter where the homepage goes (whether group 1 or 2), it shows all categories.
Thanks a lot.
