Okay, I've spent most of the day on this. Installed the software, configured MySql, started Snitz configuration. NOW I read the system requirements page........
Found out I couldn't run iis or any other asp server because I'm running XP Home. Even found a workaround if I had a copy of Win 98, but I have the wrong version. The Sun server won't run on XPh either. :( :(
So what are my alternatives? This is a shoestring installation, however, if I need to upgrade to XP Pro I guess I could, but does it come with iis or is that an extra cost option? Vista is out of the question - too much incompatabile software running here.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm running an Apache 2 web server, but I don't see any help on the Apache web site.
TIA, Gerry |

XP Pro comes with IIS in it you just have to configure it. I don't know of any other ways I believe there is some free asp hosting out there you might want to try. But other than that I would go with XP Pro if I just wanted it on my machine. |

XPPro comes with IIS as Jeff says, but it is a slightly limited version, not suited to running as a serious server. But anyone running XP on their server deserves a slap anyway, so I imagine this'll be just for a small local install, or a few users? |

Right now it's a learning experience on my web/webcam/sql server, an old Dell Dimension 4500. At any rate, it'll likely never amount to anything big. My buddy's son might want to use it to communicate with his friends or it might be used by a small church.
I was a unix guru of sorts long ago. Both these machines also have an instance of Fedora running on them, however I'm not quite up to reconfiguring all this software to run under linux. Maybe in the future. ;)
Thanks, Gerry |

Great - and just so you know, if you do ever want to grow it and take it to a host, it's very simple to do :) |
