I have not seen this nor heard of this before and for the life of me cannot figure out what is going on with this.
I had to reload IE7 onto my computer well now anytime I try to delete a post or anything the pop up window opens then closes automatically. I changed pop up blocker completely off and still cannot seem to fix this it works in Firefox to. Anyone ever seen this one before? |

Have you installed any other toolbars that may have their own pop-up blocker? |

I'd try running something like hijackthis (http://www.merijn.org/programs.php#hijackthis) to see what you've got going on...it'll unveil any BHO's or other legitimate or illegitimate tools that may cause this. I don't get this problem at all in ie7 or FF, you see. |

Are you sure you have your popup blocker off? I had this same problem while downloading some files from Gateway and the popup kept closing. After disabling the IE7 popup, mainly because I didn't need it because I use the Google popup blocker, the problem went away. What I am getting at is you might have 2 popup blockers activated. I would double, triple, quadruple check your IE7 popup blocker settings.
Uninstalling and reinstalling IE7 is not going to fix your problem, I'm pretty confident of that. Uninstalling never completely uninstalls all the components and settings. |

Yeah I am this is just strange I have now uninstalled all extra toolbars and anything that would do with this. I have turned on IE7's pop up blocker then turned it off multiple times. Still no go it shows up a little longer then closes. I just don't know where this is coming from very frustraiting. Also I can download things from sites without any problem so I don't know. |

HT will show what BHO's etc you have - so run it then look for results that say BHO (Browser Helper Objects - popup blockers, toolbars, etc). Even hidden BHO's (malware, etc) are shown by HT, so it can make an informative read. |

OK I only have 2 BHO's left and they are Windows Live Sign In Helper (I didn't think this had anything to do with pop ups) and a adobe reader one as well. All tool bars are removed. I have turned off pop up blocker 2 different ways I have done it just in the tools option then pop up blocker and made sure it was off. I have also gone into the internet options and un checked it. Still the same thing this is so strange starting to get real annoying now. |

very, very odd...what's the answer worth? £50? support.microsoft.com will work through it with you, although you may have to get past the tier1 muppets before you get someone who can solve it with you. They will refund you if it turns out to be a bug with the product, or frankly it's a pretty cheap option compared with the local computer fixit shop who start at £60/hr

I am not quite sure what those prices are. I am not familiar with british money and converting to US $'s sorry. Well I don't know I also uninstall then goto the microsoft site and try to get the installer and at the very end it gives me an error. But when I head back into the add/remove programs and windows componets and install IE it installs IE7 not the IE6 it came with. THis is very strange and maybe at some point I will try the microsoft route just can't figure it out its bugging me [:p} |

So, what you're saying is, this is only happening with the pop-ups on your Snitz forum? If that's the case then there's something up with your code; probably an errant javascript in your inc_header_short.asp or inc_footer_short.asp.

Well upon further browsing to try and see when it happens is there is no apparent reason when or why it happens on my snitz sites it happens over a espn.com and a couple others then some the pop ups come up just fine. So honestly I have no idea. Couldn't be the code because it didn't do this before I needed to reinstall it only after I have reinstalled it. |

Have you tried seeing if this happens on another machine with your site? If it does, then it is your code. |
