The email is never sent with the forgotten password. It says it has been sent, but isn't. I have current version, I have a SBC Yahoo DSL as my provider, I don't know what my database is. I am not a computer whiz at all people. I have seen other posts on this topic, but I don't understand what anyone is talking about so it does not help me.

Also..how do I change posts to show last post in descending order? Right now you have to scroll to the bottom to get latest post to topic.

Thank you so very much. Trying to fix this is driving me nuts. Please talk to me like I am a six year old. I know, I know.

I'll try right now.

No...it does not work. Here is how my email component is set up right now (I've changed it around trying to get it to work)

Email component is ASPE (no other option available)
Email mode is on
Email server is my email address now (was snitz) (neither make it work)
Admin email is email address removed by admin
Require unique is off
Email Validation is off
Restrict is off
Require logon for sending mail is on

This should be a server address such as mail.domain.tld or localhost, not an e-mail address; check with your host as to what the address of your mail server is.

My DH says that the following are our mail servers:
incoming mail= POP.SBCGLOBAL.YAHOO.COM
outgoing mail=SMTP.SBCGLOBAL.YAHOO.COM

So, should I input the outgoing address into my mail server?

I did not have the option of the SMPT.

Yes, that is correct. Use the outgoing mail server address

You should check with your host whether they require authentication to send emails.

By host I mean that company that runs the server where you have the forum installed. Who runs that server?
