Hi erveryone,

I've just installed my Snitzforum and tested it a while.
There's something that I'm missing and I hope that you can help me.

I'm looking for a method to restrict my forums to the users so that I as Administrator may post new topics and the user may answer. But only the Administrator has the abillity to create new Topics in the chosen forum.

What's the idea behind that?
Well, I would like to integrate the Forum into my Homepage. On the News site of it i want to display the news which i have written in Snitz Forum. The users who are logged in may comment them. But they do not have the rights to post news themselves which would be displayed on the News site of my webpage.

So I'm looking for a mod or some kind. I was happy when I found the Forum Rules mod. But unfortunately I had to recognize, that it gives only the abillity to display written rules.

Does anyone know something to solve my problem.

Thanks from Germany

Check out the wealth of "post moderation" settings, particularly in regards to creating new topics

This is a built-in feature called Moderation, as laser already noted.

Turn it on in Admin Options -> Feature Configuration, then edit "your news forum" and, and choose the desired value from the Moderation dropdown box (Original Posts Only Moderated is the option you'll want).

My MODs:
Birthdays - Custom Policy - F.A.Q. Administration - Forum Rules - Guestbook
Links Manager - MyOwnGoogle - Profile Views - Search Log - WebSearch

Useful stuff:
Forum and MOD Installation - MOD Installation Guide - Snitz v3.4.05 Readme - Free ASP Hosts - Support Snitz

Hi, thanks for the hints.
That should be a solution for my problem.

I've set the moderation rules and the topic was hidden for non-administrators / moderators.

Thanks.
