OK here is my pb. Snitz does not accept the following BBcode
[url=address]address[/url]
you need to use URL="address" instead

the problem is that most free image hosts such as imageshack ignore this and generate a code like [url=address]address[/url]
so here is what you get
[URL=http://imageshack.us][/URL]

so my question is: how can i tweak snitz so it accepts the code [url=address]
?
sorry if this has been posted already , couldn't find it

I don't know that that answers the question... unless I'm mistaken, eauxvives wants to eliminate the need for the quotes in the [url] code so that the code generated by ImageShack and others will work...

sorry onewaymule, but it is not. please read my post again, or maybe i was not clear
I if copy the example in the FAQ, this works

but if i remove the "" in the URL code (which is what imageshack does), here is what appears
[url=http://forum.snitz.com/forum/][/url]

edit: yes, anon

I'd have to double-check how Snitz handles the code... I'd think it was possible.

Sorry, must have misread your post.
I can't remember anyone having done a modification to achieve this.

There was some posting about this subject a few months ago, I forget what the outcome was and I can't find the thread either

I simply remember to change the imageshack paste. Add quotes, and also make sure 'img' is lower case. It would be nice if I could skip the step though.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet?

I would sure appreciate it, because most of the users of my forum are not computer savvy enough to figure the "" out. There wouldn't really be a way to consistently pass that info along to new members, either.

I was looking for image hosting sites that wouldn't require registration to simplify the process for my users, but all of the sites generated [URL=abc] sans "".

I've contacted Imageshack about possibly supplying a compatible link.

If they're really not that smart, consider adding Proeder's File Attachment mod. It gives them a paper clip to click on and attach pics.

Ain't got nothing to do with "computer savvy" it's to do with common sense and the ability to read help and FAQ files which seems to me to be a pretty consistent way to pass the info on to new members.

With the way Snitz parses forum code, it is not possible to use the [url] tag without the quotations.
