I am using v3.4.05 on www.ukhosts.co.uk with an Access database. As previously reported, users frequently get this error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
System resource exceeded.
/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 1028
Previous advice was to check with my host. They confirm all is working their end and that they host many Snitz forums without this problem.
I can only conclude it is an error in one of the Snitz configuration files. I can see nothing obvious at line 1028 in that asp file, although I believe the line number varies depending upon the editor?
I would really appreciate help from Snitz to track down this problem which is now serious.

Line 1028 will be line 1028, regardless of editor. Word wrapping may make you believe the line numbering is changing, but any DECENT text editor will be able to handle it.
I definitely agree with ruirib on this one, hoster error. |

Just out of curiosity, what is on line 1028 (and a couple of lines above)?
And have you made any changes from the base code?
(I'm sure you've covered this ground before, but for the life of me I can't seem to find the "previously reported" thread) |

Thanks. That does clarify a few points. What's worse is I posted there and didn't even remember it. Guess I've been more stressed than I'd realized.
Just for the sake of thoroughness - are we talking about 'clean' code or something thats been modified? |

I've applied mods for extra smilies and for showing logged-in member names if that helps.
I'm now getting timeout errors. Can't anyone help please? |

Did your problems start right after you made the mods, or is it something that just 'happened'?
I ask because if you didn't do the mods right some unclosed connections could be chewing your resources. If you didn't have any problems for a good stretch of time after doing the mods, then its probably a host issue.
I'm sure one of the more advanced members here will either correlate or correct my analysis. |
