Ok,
I've copied all the files from the sf2k_v34_04up05 folder to my website. (testserver)
When i try to run the setup i get an error message Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'
Include file not found
/setup.asp, line 42
The include file 'inc_sha256.asp' was not found.
i type http://servername/setup.asp The files have been copied to the root so this must be ok i think?

The zip you downloaded contains only the files that were changed between v3.4.04 and v3.4.05, whereas you're upgrading from v3.3.x. I'd recommend you download the zip containing all the file for v3.4.05 and start your test forum from there.

Ok, i'm a little bit further. It seems that the software wants to create a new database.
The database needs to be installed !! You need to create all the tables in the database before you can start using the forum. Click here to create the tables in the database.
I've pointed in my config.asp to (a copy of) my existing database.
Is there something that i'm doing wrong? Or is this normal and should i proceed with the installation?
It doesn't look like an upgrade to me!

Well, if you're coming from 3.3 it might be possible that some tables do not exist yet...or have different names. |

It surely does not look like an upgrade. Make sure you're using the correct DB.
It's also possible that the Snitz code does not recognise a MaxWeb DB. |

It's a MS SQL DB. So that looks strange to me! |

HI, I'm having a similar problem but I'm doing a FRESH install using the full package.
I have the asp files in s sub folder on my public WWW called forum.
I've moved my access snitz mdb file to the cgi-bin above the public folder and set up the virtual path option as follows.
("/cgi-bin/snitz_forum.mdb")
When i goto my website www.mysite.com/forum/setup.asp
I get the following error every time.
Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0126'
Include file not found
/forum/setup.asp, line 42
The include file 'inc_sha256.asp' was not found.
I've checked the /forum dir and its there and even RE-downloaded the full ZIP package and un commented/setup the config.asp befor FTP'n it up again.

Hi,
Well its odd, I waited for about 20 minutes and tried again. BANG it was working...very weird. Guess I had to wait for the ASP dust to settle?! |
